VAN HIRE TERMS & CONDITIONS

Zelfi Ltd reserves the right to refuse rental at any point & without any explanation.

When you come to hire a vehicle you will be required to read and sign the rental agreement which lists total charges and conditions of rental and is your contract with us.

1.0 Age Limits

2.0 Driving Licence

You must be in possession of full UK/EU valid driving licence which you have held for at least 2 years at the time of rental.

3.0 Endorsements, Accidents and Medical

The driver is permitted to have not more than 2 speeding offences in the past 3 years. ‘Spent’ convictions may also be ignored. If you have other points then contact us with the details, we are able to hire to customers who have more points but this must be agreed in advance as we need to refer it to the insurers in all cases.

You are not permitted to drive our vehicles if you have been involved in more than 1 accident during the past 3 years. Persons who have had their insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience , medical conditions and/or have had their insurance or cover cancelled by any Motor Insurer are not permitted to drive our vehicles.

4.0 Identification

The Driver and Additional Driver(s) must produce their driving licence. For holders of the new style UK licence, both the photo ID card and the paper detailing the driver history must be produced.

The main Driver also needs an additional form of identification such as a passport or utility bill with your name and present address on.

You will also be asked to leave a landline and mobile telephone number where you can be contacted either during the day or evening. 

5.0 Additional Drivers

We charge £10.00 for each Additional Driver, who are subject to the same conditions as the Main Driver and must be declared at the time of hiring.

6.0 Insurance

We offer Fully Comprehensive insurance but it does not cover any contents or goods carried within the vehicle. No insurance cover is provided for nor will the Loss/Damage Waiver cover the following in respect for any damages caused by/to whether willful or negligent;

(a) maneuvering or striking an over head object

(b) tyres

(c) internals

(d) glass

(e) missing radios and accessories

(f) maneuvering or striking static objects (gates, walls, posts etc…)

7.0 Loss/Damage Wavier

Insurance excess is £500. A Loss/Damage Waiver is available to reduce the insurance excess to £150 at a charge of £12 per day. Loss/Damage liability waiver may be withdrawn at any time if the Rental Agreement is breached.

8.0 Rates

Rates include insurance, VAT, breakdown cover & unlimited miles and are subject to change without notice. Rates do not include fuel, Loss/Damage Waiver, personal effects or goods in transit insurance.

9.0 Deposit

For all vehicles a deposit of £100.00 is required using credit/debit card or cash. This will not be refunded in full or part if there are any costs and charges incurred as detailed in our Rental Agreement.

10.0 Payment

Full payment for hire must be made on collection of the vehicle either by cash or approved credit or debit card. All charges must be paid at the time the vehicle is collected. When using a card with a PIN number this number must be used to proceed with the payment.

Cash: If paying by cash three types of identification is required, one of which must be a photo ID such as a passport.

Credit Cards: Visa and Mastercard credit cards are accepted, however American Express and Diner's Club are not. The hirer's name must match the name on the card.

Debit Cards: Debit cards are accepted as a method of payment. You must ensure that there are sufficient funds in your account to cover the cost of the hire and the deposit. We will not be responsible for any bank charges that you may incur.

11.0 Cancellation of Reservations

Cancellation of rental within 72 hours of pickup then under no circumstances will Zelfi Ltd refund any of the Rental Cost. This may be waived at our discretion if sufficient prior notice is given enabling us to rebook our rental vehicle. Early returns will not entail a refund of Rental Cost for the unused portion.

12.0 Fuel

Vans are supplied with full tank of fuel and are required back with a full tank of fuel. Vans that require fuel after rental will incur a charge at £0.50 per litre above the prices detailed at the nearest forecourt. 

130 Breakdown and Accidents

All vehicles are covered by National Breakdown recovery services and a 24 hour helpline number is supplied with the vehicle.

14.0 Vehicle Availability

While every effort is made to provide the vehicle required, it may be necessary to substitute an alternative vehicle due to unforeseen circumstances. Vehicles are rented by class type only.

15.0 Use abroad

Vehicles are not to be driven outside of the following countries; England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland without our written permission.

16.0 Rental Agreement

When you come to hire the vehicle you will be required to read and sign the Rental Agreement which lists the rental period, the total charges and the conditions of the rental. This Rental Agreement is your contract with us.

17.0 Cost of potential Charges

(a) Administration charges are charged at a fair rate of £10 for Rentable damage, £20 for non-Rentable

     damage and £10 for each time we contact you to chase up fines, penalties and charges occured by

     you during the Rental Period.

(b) Valeting of the vehicle above the standard pre rental clean will be charged between £10 - £25.

(c) Late Returns will be charged at the day rate or part thereof.

(d) During the Rental Period you are liable as keeper of the Vehicle for any offences, penalties or fines

     committed or sustained in respect of the Vehicle under any relevant road traffic legislation.

(e) Other Charges which are not included in the Loss/Damage Waiver including but without limitation;

     striking an over head object, tyre damage, internal damage, glass damage, missing radios and

     accessories. Total liability will be determined after the extent of each has been identified.

18.0 Your responsibilities

Whilst you have the Vehicle during the Rental Period you agree that you will:

(a) Keep a copy of this Rental Agreement and Terms & Conditions (including the Renters Information

Guide) and insurance documents in the Vehicle at all times.

(b) Inform us as soon as possible about any loss or damage to the Vehicle or Extras, or if it is

not working correctly, and in any event you must comply with the obligations in Clause 12.4. If using

the Vehicle after it has been damaged could cause further damage or if there is a fault you will not

continue to use it and will notify Zelfi Ltd immediately.

(c) Inform us or our representative of the Vehicle the whereabouts of the Vehicle if we ask you.

(d) Not take the Vehicle outside the country unless agreed by us in writing, and it is clearly stated in the

Rental Agreement that you may take the Vehicle out of the country.

(e) Pay directly or reimburse us for any fines or penalties imposed as a result of the use of the Vehicle

during the Vehicle Rental Period.

(f) Not sell, rent or dispose of the Vehicle or Extras in any way.

(g) Not allow the vehicle to be driven or used by any person who has not been authorized by us and

whom has not been named as a Driver(s) in this Rental Agreement.

(h) Not use, and ensure that the Vehicle is not used during the Rental Period if it becomes in an unsafe condition or unsafe to drive or for a purpose for which it is not designed or not suitable. In particular you will not overload the Vehicle, you will properly secure all loads and not carry any hazardous, dangerous or inflammable substance(s).

(i) Not use the Vehicle for racing, pace making or any other form of competition, not use the Vehicle for towing, pushing, driving tuition or other hazardous or unusual use.

(j) Not Carry people or property for hire or reward.

(k) Not drive the Vehicle on un-surfaced roads or other unpaved surfaces, unless the Vehicle is designed for 4x4 operations/

(l) Not use or drive the Vehicle in breach of the law of the country which it is rented or use it or allow it to be used in order to commit any criminal activity whatsoever.

(m) Not use or drive the Vehicle whilst intoxicated or under the influence of any medication or other legal or illegal substance which impairs driving ability.

(n) Make sure that the Vehicle is locked and secured when not in use and properly protected against damage due to bad weather. You will take proper care of the Vehicle and any extras. In particular you will use the correct fuel and regularly check and maintain correct levels of engine oil, tyre pressure and coolant.

(o) Not do or allow to be done any work on or other interference with the Vehicle whatsoever.

(p) Not represent that you are the owner of the Vehicle or our agent.
